United Veterans Beacon House Pittston, PA – August 9, 2004 – The Veterans of the Vietnam War, Inc. (VVnW) is expanding its United Veteran Beacon House (UVBH). The UVBH project provides transitional housing and reintegration programs for homeless veterans. The project currently has houses in Pennsylvania, New York, West Virginia and Louisiana, and as part of a national expansion is opening houses in Texas, Florida, Kansas, Montana, New Mexico, Virginia, Alaska and Idaho. There is now an opportunity to support a homeless veteran family in the Pittsburgh area. An individual in Pittsburgh has donated a house to VVnW for the project. The house is in desperate need of renovations before homeless veterans can move in, therefore VVnW is asking for your help. The project needs plumbers, electricians, carpenters, painters, roofers, cleaning services, general contractors and individuals to volunteer their time and services. If you live in the greater Pittsburgh area or any other areas pending expansion and would like to volunteer or make a donation, please call 1-800-VIETNAM. |
