Post PA-51 was formed in 1987 in the banquet hall of Lindauer's Tavern, Hughesville, PA. On February 20, 1988, we received our Charter from the National Headquarters. On this day we became a new chapter in the book. Under the organization and commandership of Joseph Walker, we continued to grow to become a viable post that the National Organization can be proud of.

Through the leadership of all of our past commanders we have been able to grow. Each past commander with their ideas and leadership has contributed to the healthiness of this post and organization with the many functions that were and continue to be the building blocks of this post.

Post PA-51 maintains a roster of not less than 135 members and can boast of 146 members at this time. Although it is not a pre-requisite, we encourage each member, not only to be a member, but an active member. It is through their/your participation that we are able to undertake the projects that make us strong enough to survive.
